The alpha release should provide a way to generate a course-data.json from a tab-separated file, to compute score-sum, score-ratio and admitted, to assign nicknames, to mail nicknames and to display the course data.

All of this should work from the command line without touching a Lisp REPL and it should be properly documented.

Adding exercises and scores to records is out of the scope of the alpha.
